The Store.
We sell books. Sometimes for almost twice as much as it costs to print them.
But they’re not just books, really. Think of them as futures.
As college entrance exams.
As Booker Prize Winners.
As the speech that shook the world.
100% of the proceeds from our book sales go directly to our SideWalk Writes the Future program, enabling us to provide this
service free of charge to schools in the Charleston area.

FISH WHO TALK SAY WHAT?

|
If you like to read stories about kids who conquer their fears, school buses that fly, class trips to Washington, and bank robbers, then this is a book you don’t want to miss.
Fish Who Talk Say What? is a beautiful collection of short stories written by Mitchell Elementary 4th graders during our Short Story Writers’ Workshop.
There are 40 stories in all, with titles like: “Skelton Melton Picks a Successor”, “Jamarie Jenkins Saves the Day”, “The Thing That Said, ‘Boo!’” and “Anyone? Anyone? Hello”. You’ll laugh hysterically, cheer aloud, do cartwheels around your living room, and sleep better at night knowing you helped support Charleston’s youngest rising authors.
Some people even say that the number of copies an individual purchases is an accurate scale to measure how much they care about children. We say there’s nothing to prove otherwise.
One Philadelphia mother of three tried to buy 218 copies. She cared a lot. We only had 7 copies left, so we sent them all to her.
Since then, a team of printers have emerged from a dimly lit basement, fingers stained black from their Gutenberg press, and we’ve got copies coming out our ears.
